Worldview - Responsibility and Beauty
Baerbel Claus is a citizen of the world and lived for decades on different continents, including a long time in Africa, where she also began her artistic training. Her objects in bronze, concrete, clay and porcelain are aesthetically appealing and invite you to take a second look. Then the viewer discovers allusions to the consequences of social injustice, environmental pollution, and exploitation, e. g. of the continent Africa.
The experience of completely different cultures, religions and traditions influences the art of Baerbel Claus and makes her a friendly but admonishing voice of world responsibility for all of us.".
